Historic church bells transferred from the Hanseatic City of Gdansk to the City of Gdansk

After more than a year of preparatory work, the historic church bells from the Hanseatic City of Gdansk were finally brought to Gdansk. This important transport was made possible by the support of many dedicated helpers.

Farewell to the bells

On 15 May 2024, the historic bells were bid farewell in a festive ceremony with numerous guests and the blessing of church representatives. The event was well attended and those present showed great appreciation for the cultural and historical significance of the bells.

Arrival in Gdansk

The bells arrived in Gdansk at 12 noon on 17 May 2024. The valuable pieces are safely stored in the passageway of the Stockturm tower. The arrival of the bells marks an important step in the preservation and appreciation of historical church artefacts.
The support and interest of the community is invaluable for the preservation of our cultural heritage.
